Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

1. Introduction

Diopta ("we," "our," or "us") operates diopta.studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: When you sign in with Google or email, we collect your email address and name.
  • Scene and project data: We store the scenes, shots, camera settings, and project data you create in Diopta.
  • Usage data: We collect basic usage information such as browser type, referring site, and pages visited to improve the service.
  • Session recordings: On our public pages — the home page, this policy, and public breakdowns — we record page interactions such as clicks and scrolling so we can see where the site is confusing. Text you type into form fields is masked and never recorded. We do not record the 3D editor.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Diopta service
  • To save and sync your projects across sessions
  • To send account-related emails such as one-time sign-in codes
  • To improve the service over time

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Scene and project data is stored on servers in the United States.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth — for sign-in (governed by Google's Privacy Policy)
  • Supabase — for database and authentication
  • Resend — for transactional email delivery
  • PostHog — for product analytics and session recordings (governed by PostHog's Privacy Policy)

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to provide the service (as described above) or as required by law.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

8. Cookies

Diopta uses cookies and local storage to maintain your session and save temporary work. Our analytics provider also sets a cookie once you sign in, so that repeat visits by the same account are counted as one person rather than many. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not share them with advertising networks.

9. Children's Privacy

Diopta is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
